As promised, what's with the name....

Ok, I promised to tell the story behind the name "Soteria". And being Easter Sunday, this couldn't have worked out better to post the explanation.

It started almost three years ago when we seriously started planning this adventure. I was at a bible study, reading Luke when I caught a word that might just work for a name for our future boat. Upon checking a Greek dictionary, I was sold. It seemed to encompass all that has and is happening in our lives and besides, it sounds cool (ok, I graduated in the 70's, alright? You want me to say neat?). After talking it over and praying about it, it was decided to use the name on our future home.

"Soteria" is Greek for rescue, safety, deliver, health and salvation. The root word is deliverer. The biblical reference is Luke 19:9: "And Jesus said to him (Zaccheaus), "Today salvation has come to this house..." NKJV. What better name for our future home! Not only was this a "coincidence", but the list price for her was $19,900.00. The survey we had done was also a "coincidence", costing exactly one of my net paychecks.

Some people might say they were just a couple of coincidences, but we firmly believe God has had a hand in these plans since the first day we started dreaming and believing. We truly believe God has a plan for us as we move into the next phase of our lives. God will give you the desires of your heart, and even give you the dream, if you believe and trust in Him!
